Wordery

I am often, if not always asked about the text in my work, what the words say or mean, what is the purpose of it. Apart from the visible texture and pattern which I use a little like newsprint, or shade, the highlighting and use of different mediums..... the words have meaning.

It may be very apparent, a line of readable script, a poem which more often than not is in the form of Japanese Haiku. If it is something that you can read, then the answer can be straightforward. If it is not legible you must ask yourself why?

When next in a conversation with another, pause now and again to meditate on all of the thoughts and feelings that came to you but for one reason or another you decided against uttering. Within this pile of perceived leftovers you will find many truths and you will also find pieces of a puzzle you have yet to complete. I think while I am working and from a perceived abyss deep within me come the reflections you find in my text.

I find myself in conversation with myself and here I can allow my thoughts to go further, my moral compass cleaning the path behind me.

In the above close up of a current work I am musing about a potential lover but in this instance you would never know that.... unless of course I told you. It is filled with wonder, a lovers feelings and hopes for who this person walking towards them might be.

The bird bears witness. The bird is I. The bird is always me.
